Ownership Assurance Agreement
Every qualifying vehicle we sell is carefully selected and prepared to provide confidence from the moment you drive away. As part of the BidBB Ownership Promise, your vehicle includes complimentary Ownership Assurance, giving you added peace of mind throughout the early stages of ownership.
This Agreement explains how your Ownership Assurance operates, the support available to you and the responsibilities we each have should an unexpected issue arise.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this Agreement:
BidBB means the vehicle retailer selling the vehicle and providing the BidBB Ownership Promise.
Customer means the person or business named on the vehicle sales invoice.
Ownership Assurance means the complimentary ownership assurance provided with qualifying vehicles sold by BidBB.
Ownership Assurance Schedule means the applicable schedule summarising the principal vehicle systems included within your Ownership Assurance.
Assurance Administrator means the third-party organisation appointed by BidBB to administer Ownership Assurance on its behalf.
Ownership Assurance Period means the period described in Section 3 of this Agreement.
2. Your Ownership Assurance
Every qualifying vehicle sold by BidBB includes 12 months’ complimentary Ownership Assurance, valid for a maximum of 24,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first.
Ownership Assurance is intended to assist with the cost of unexpected mechanical or electrical failures affecting the principal vehicle systems identified within the applicable Ownership Assurance Schedule.
Ownership Assurance forms part of the BidBB Ownership Promise and is provided in addition to the preparation, inspection and presentation of your vehicle prior to delivery.
3. Ownership Assurance Period
Your Ownership Assurance begins on the date the vehicle is delivered to you and expires upon the earlier of:
- Twelve (12) months from the date of delivery; or
- 24,000 kilometres travelled during your ownership.
Once either limit has been reached, the complimentary Ownership Assurance will automatically expire.
Where available, extended Ownership Assurance may be arranged prior to expiry, subject to vehicle eligibility and acceptance.
4. Covered Vehicles
Ownership Assurance applies only to qualifying vehicles sold directly by BidBB and identified on the corresponding vehicle sales invoice.
The applicable Ownership Assurance Schedule forms part of this Agreement and should be read together with these terms.
5. Our Commitment
Should an unexpected covered failure occur during the Ownership Assurance Period, BidBB will assist you throughout the claims process.
Our team will provide guidance, liaise with the Assurance Administrator where appropriate and help ensure the matter is managed efficiently, professionally and with the minimum possible inconvenience.
Our objective is simple: to make resolving genuine covered issues as straightforward and transparent as possible.
6. Your Responsibilities
To maintain the benefits of your Ownership Assurance, you agree to:
- Maintain the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended servicing requirements.
- Regularly check and maintain engine oil, coolant and other operating fluids where applicable.
- Stop driving the vehicle immediately if continued operation could reasonably result in further damage.
- Notify BidBB as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering a fault.
- Obtain approval before authorising repairs that you wish to be considered under this Agreement.
- Take all reasonable steps to minimise any additional damage following the discovery of a fault.
Failure to comply with these responsibilities may affect the assistance available under this Agreement.
7. General Exclusions
Ownership Assurance is intended to assist with unexpected mechanical or electrical failures. It is not a replacement for routine servicing, maintenance or the normal costs associated with vehicle ownership.
Ownership Assurance will not normally apply where an issue results from:
- Routine servicing or scheduled maintenance.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Consumable items.
- Cosmetic deterioration.
- Accident or collision damage.
- Fire, flood or theft.
- Corrosion or environmental damage.
- Neglect, abuse or misuse.
- Continued vehicle operation after a fault has become apparent.
- Unauthorised modifications, alterations or performance enhancements.
- Repairs carried out without prior approval where approval could reasonably have been obtained.
Additional exclusions applicable to your vehicle are detailed within the relevant Ownership Assurance Schedule.
8. Making A Claim
If you believe your vehicle has developed a fault that may qualify for Ownership Assurance:
- Contact BidBB before arranging repairs wherever reasonably possible.
- Provide details of the vehicle and the nature of the fault.
- Follow the guidance provided by our team.
- Do not authorise repairs until approval has been obtained unless emergency circumstances make prior approval impossible.
Prompt notification will assist us in resolving your claim as quickly as possible.
9. Repair Approval
Ownership Assurance applies only to repairs approved through the agreed claims process.
Repairs authorised without prior approval may not qualify for assistance unless exceptional circumstances prevented prior contact with BidBB.
10. Limits of Assistance
Ownership Assurance applies only to qualifying mechanical or electrical failures occurring during the Ownership Assurance Period.
Ownership Assurance does not guarantee that every repair, component or circumstance will qualify for assistance.
Component eligibility, repair authorisation and any applicable financial limits shall be determined in accordance with the applicable Ownership Assurance arrangements.
11. Need Advice?
If you are ever unsure whether a particular fault, component or repair may qualify under your Ownership Assurance, please contact the BidBB team before arranging repairs.
We’ll always be pleased to provide guidance and help you avoid unnecessary expense wherever possible.
12. Discretionary Assistance
BidBB reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to provide assistance outside the scope of this Ownership Assurance Agreement.
Any such assistance is entirely voluntary and does not form part of the Ownership Assurance provided with your vehicle.
The provision of discretionary assistance on one occasion shall not create any obligation, expectation or precedent for BidBB to provide similar assistance in any future circumstance, whether relating to the same vehicle, customer or any other claim.
Any decision to provide discretionary assistance shall be made solely by BidBB and shall be final.
13. Changes to this Agreement
BidBB reserves the right to amend future versions of this Ownership Assurance Agreement from time to time.
Any amendments shall apply only to vehicles sold after the revised Agreement comes into effect and shall not affect Ownership Assurance already in force unless required by law or agreed with the Customer.
14. Our Commitment to You
The BidBB Ownership Promise extends beyond the day you collect your vehicle.
Our Ownership Assurance reflects our commitment to delivering carefully selected vehicles, prepared to the highest standards, supported by exceptional customer care and ongoing assistance throughout your ownership journey.
